AlertBoot Expands Full Disk Encryption Offering into Brazil; Launches Local Subsidiary
Managed Service Provider Protects User Data through Full Encryption of Hard Disks and USB Devices
Las Vegas, NV -- September 7, 2010 -- AlertBoot, a leading
provider of full disk encryption, today announced
the expansion of the company’s full disk encryption services into Brazil. The company is
investing R$ 1 million in this new subsidiary, which will be led by Rodrigo Moura Fernandes,
an expert in the Brazilian security industry who will serve as country manager.
“Since our launch earlier this year, AlertBoot has experienced tremendous
demand for its leading full disk encryption services throughout the world,” said Tim Maliyil, CEO of AlertBoot.
“With the country’s strict data protection laws, organizations in Brazil are looking for an easy-to-use option in
data protection. By expanding into Brazil, AlertBoot is illustrating its dedication to providing a cost-effective,
scalable and highly secure hard disk encryption that simplifies security.”
As country manager Mr. Moura will be tasked with marketing, sales and support efforts for the
Brazil market. With this expansion, AlertBoot is expected to commercialize 20,000 licenses by the end of 2010 and
other 80,000 by the end of 2011, accomplishing a total of 100,000 users in the base installed in Brazil in the first 18 months of operation. With this growth,
Brazil would account for 10 percent of AlertBoot’s total number of licenses worldwide.
“AlertBoot is an innovative solution in the Brazilian market because it is a cost-effective
alternative that simplifies the use of encryption in organizations of all sizes. By offering a hosted,
managed solution, AlertBoot reduces the expenses associated with maintenance, energy, back-up and technical support,
allowing companies to focus on their business needs, not security operations,” said Moura, country manager of Brazil for
AlertBoot. “I am excited to lead the growth of AlertBoot into Brazil and look forward to helping individuals and companies
meet and exceed their security and compliance demands.”
Using the Sophos SafeGuard market platform, AlertBoot’s solution is supported in Portuguese
and can be quickly installed by the user, with no need for a dedicated server. By not demanding a minimum number of users,
it can be installed either on personal computers or in companies. Information is managed virtually through the Web, so data won't
remain stored in the cloud. AlertBoot’s key features include different kinds of reports in keeping with specific international
certification standards, whose content is embedded within the system. It is also possible to extract customized reports, to use, for example, in an audit process
Built on the leading Sophos Safeguard Enterprise encryption platform, AlertBoot’s solution provides
organizations with powerful encryption services to protect all of their sensitive data, regardless of where it resides.
By offering full disk encryption in the cloud, AlertBoot is allowing its customers to take the onus off of IT departments,
and enabling end users to more securely protect their sensitive data, while simplifying and lowering total cost of ownership.
